W Champaran DM withholds salary of DEO, DPO, several BEOs

Bettiah : DM, West Champaran, Nilesh Ram chandra Deore while  reviewing works of education department in the district on November 16, 2017, expressed his dissatisfaction over the standard of education. The DM  took action against District  Education Officer (DEO) Harendra Jha and subordinates officers in view of deteriorating standard of education specially in rural and remote areas of the district.

The DM asked for explanation from them and  and ordered for withhoding their salaries including that of DEO, District Programme Officer (DPO), and Block Education Officers (BEOs) of Nautan, Chanpatia, Bettiah, Majhaulia, Gaunaha, Lauria, Sikata and Bagaha-2nd block till further order. The DM said supervising officials of the district do not make regular inspections of the Primary and Middle schools. As a result, he said, the standard of teaching in schools is very poor in the district.
