Ara : West Bengal police on November 4, 2017, took notorious criminal Chand Mian, an inmate of Ara jail, on transit remand and took him to West Bengal in connection with a forgery case there. A team of West Bengal police reached Ara on November 4 and with the help of their Town police station, Ara, counterparts went to Chand Mian’s house in Dharahara locality under Town police station and inquired about him from his family members.

SI, Matiabridge police station, South Pargana, West Bengal, said that Md Naushad had lodged an FIR with Matiabridge police station on June 7, 2016, in connection with forgery in sale and purchase of cars there and the West Bengal police were looking for Chand Mian of Ara.

It may be mentioned here that Chand Mian was chargesheeted in the Ara Civil Court Bomb blast case but was granted bail later. He was once again made named accused in the murder of a businessman Krishna Kumar Singh alias Kumar Ji on July 3, 2017, in Padav locality near Model Insitutue under Town police station. He surrendered before the court four days after the incident and is in Ara jail.
