Ara : West Bengal police with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart arrested a security guard Rajendra Yadav and recovered stolen properties worth about Rs 20 lakh from the house of one of his relatives. West Bengal Police took the guard and seized valuables to West Bengal with them on October 28, 2018, late night.

Station House Officer, Ara Town police station, J P Singh said that properties worth about Rs 50 lakh including jewellery and cash were stolen from a Banglabadi at Alipur of West Bengal on September 25, 2018, and an FIR was lodged with Alipur police station in West Bengal against some person including a guard at Banglabadi Rajendra Yadav, son of Vishwanath Yadav and resident of village Pawat under Ara Muffassil police station in Bhojpur district.

On the basis of mobile surveillance, a team of Kolkata Crime Branch, Alipur police station, and Lal Bazaar police station, reached Ara on October 28, 2018, afternoon and with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart arrested Rajendra Yadav from Old Policeline. During interrogation, Rajendra Yadav confessed his involvement in the theft and revealed where the stolen articles were kept. On his revelation, police recovered jewellery worth about Rs 10 lakh and Rs 9.7 lakh cash from the house of one of his relatives near Sapana Cinema road under Ara Town police station.

The SHO said that after committing theft in the house where he was a guard, Rajendra Yadav fled away and lived at a rented house at Old Policeline under Ara Police Station. Bengal police had conducted raids at different districts including Aurangabad but he kept changing his hideouts.
