Teenage girl strangulated to death at Bhojpur village after she foiled rape bid

Ara : A teenage girl was strangulated to death on October 28, 2018, evening, at village Vishunpur under Sahar police station in Bhojpur district after the named accused failed in his bid to outrage her modesty on October 27 night.

An FIR has been lodged with Sahar police station against three persons but no arrest has so far been made in this connection. Police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem. Love affair is said to be cause behind the incident.

SHO, Sahar police station, Sanjay Kumar, said that the girl, a class VIII student and daughter of Veer Bahadur, had gone to the field along with her younger sister to attend call of nature when a youth Rakesh Yadav of the village caught her and took her to a secluded place to outrage her modesty but his attempt was foiled after she and her younger sister raised an alarm that attracted attention of the villagers. The miscreants, seeing the villagers approaching, escaped from the scene.

After the girl informed her parents about the incident, her family members and that of the accused clashed and pelted each other with stones. On October 28, the girl’s father went to Sahar police station to lodge an FIR against Rakesh Yadav and his brother and father. On his return on October 28 evening, he found his daughter was strangulated to death and the body lying inside the house. He immediately informed police who rushed to the spot and brought the body over to the Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The SHO said that he could not say anything till post-mortem report is received.
