Ara: Veer Kuer Singh University  (VKSU ), Ara, will cancel affiliation of colleges which do not fulfil criteria. The VKSU administration had formed four three member committee to inquire into the matter and the committees have completed their work. A meeting of the affiliation committee will be held next week to take decision regarding cancellation of affiliation of such colleges after considering the reports of the inquiry committees.

The VKSU has 54 affiliated colleges in Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas and Kaimur districts. A meeting of the affiliation committee was held on July 9, 2016, and during discussion it was found that several affiliated colleges are not upto mark and also do not fulfill all the criteria. So four three- member committees were formed for each of the four district and it was instructed to inquire into the working, facilities, documents and papers of each affiliated college.

Vice-Chancellor, VKSU Leela Chand Sah said that the university will invite applications from the colleges seeking affiliation for the 2017-2018 fiscal from December, 2016, and their applications, documents and papers will be checked in January 2017. After taking all necessary steps, again a meeting of affiliation committee will be held in  February 2017 for granting affiliation.

It may be mentioned here that the VKSU has two types of affiliated colleges, 24permanent affiliated colleges and 30 temporary affiliated colleges. The temporary affiliated colleges have to apply every year for the renewal of their affiliation. On the other hand, the university has decided to grant affiliation to four B.Ed colleges that were recognized by the NCTE after the Syndicate of the university approved the proposal.
