Muzaffarpur:  New currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 denominations did not reach Muzaffarpur district on November 10 though Rs 100 notes are available in all the banks. The new currency notes had not reached banks including  SBI, Syndicate Bank, Central Bank of India and Post Offices in urban areas. The banks are giving only Rs 100 notes to the customers. The customers are, however, depositing their old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in the banks. There are 325 branches of different banks and 373 Post-offices in Muzaffarpur district. Banks Managers have asked the customers not to be in hurry to exchange their old notes as they have 50 days to do it.
