MMC Dy Mayor Mazid Hussain removed from post through no confidence motion

Muzaffarpur: Deputy Mayor of Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation (MMC) Saiyyad Mazid Hussain was on November 9 removed from his post in a no-confidence motion brought against him. During voting on no-confidence motion, Hussain could get only three votes. Of the 49 ward councillors, 36 participated in voting on no-confidence motion of which 32 voted  against Hussain while three favoured him. One vote was rejected. With it, the war of attrition between Mayor Varsha Singh and Deputy Mayor Hussain came to an end. MMC commissioner Ramesh Kumar Ranjan said that as per Rule, the date of election of the new Deputy Mayor would be announced after 15 days.
