Bhabhua : A case of repeated rape of a visually impaired married woman came to light on May 6, 2019, after the survivor lodged a named FIR with Women’s police station at Bhabhua, headquarters of Kaimur district.

SHO Incharge, Women’s police station, Bijay Bahadur Singh, quoting the FIR,  said that one Sachin of village Sakadi  had allegedly outraged the modesty of a visually impaired married woman of a village under Bhagwanpur police station in Kaimur district several times with a promise to marry her. On May 4, 2019, Saturday, Sachin took her to his native village Sakadi on his motorcycle where he raped her more than once. On May 6, 2019, he was taking her to drop her at her in-laws’ place but she got down from his motorcycle on the way near Devi Ji Road at Bhabhua and reached the Women’s police station with the help of a local and lodged a named FIR against Sachin.

The SHO said that police brought the survivor over to  Bhabhua Sadar Hospital for medical examination and are also  investigating into the matter. He said that legal action would be taken against the accused after investigation.
