Villagers wanting to thrash childlifter clash with police, SHO injured

Muzaffarpur : Three police personnel including SHO, Meenapur police station in Muzaffarpur district, Sanjay Kumar, were injured on April 12, 2017,  in brickbatting by villagers when police reached a village Turik under Meenapur to arrest a childlifter. The villagers wanted to teach the childlifter a lesson. This led to scuffle between police and villagers.

The villagers also snatched a rifle from police which was, however, recovered from the village the same  night, said SSP Vivek Kumar. Police arrested a childlifter Suresh Sah  and recovered a child, the SSP said. The child belongs to Runnisaidpur in Sitamarhi district. Another stolen child from Kanti in Muzaffarpur district had managed to escape. DSP, East, Muzaffarpur, M Ahmad, said the villagers clashed with police as they wanted to thrash the arrested childlifter. The DSP said that the people who clashed with police were relatives of Kanti child.
