Four arrested in Rajdhani Exp loot case

Buxar : Government Railway Police (GRP), Buxar, with the help of their Utter Pradesh counterparts arrested four criminals on April 12, 2017, evening from Buxar in connection with loot in Rajdhani Express on April 9, 2017. Police also seized looted ornaments and a motorcycle from their possession.

The arrested criminals were identified as Om Prakash Ram, Raja Mian, Ram Chandra Kumar Verma and Fateh Hussain. All the arrested miscreants are said to be residents of Utter Pradesh. over a dozen armed criminals had entered the A4, B1, B2, B7, B8 coaches of 12310 New Delhi -Patna Rajdhani Express near Bhadaura railway station under Danapur rail division of East Central Railway, Hajipur, when the train stopped at the outer signal due to red light for about half an hour in the wee hour on April 9 and looted properties and cash from the passengers at pistol point and when some passengers resisted them, the miscreants beat them up. After looting the passengers, the criminal got down from the train near Gahmar railway station in UPand escaped.

The passengers had made much hue and cry at Patna railway station after the train reached there. Seven persons including an ASI of the escort party were suspended immediately and coach attendant and other staff taken into custody immediately after the incident. On the direction of railway minister, a police team led by SHO, GRP, Gaya, was formed which with the help of their UP counterparts arrested four criminals. The police team, on the revelation of the arrested criminals, launched search operation in different areas in UP to  arrest some other criminals.
