Ara : The residents of village Shivanchak under Barhara police station in Bhojpur district foiled the bid of some unidentified persons to kidnap a teenage girl of the village around midnight on December 6, 2017. The miscreants also beat the girl and her minor brother and injured them. An FIR was lodged with Barahara police station oin this connection on December 7.

SHO, Barhara police station, said that the girl and her minor brother Rawal Kumar were sleeping at  their house at village Shivanchak. Their family members had gone to attend a marriage at the village. Around midnight, four unidentified miscreants entered the house and tried to kidnap the girl but she raised an alarm. Hearing her cry, Rawal who was sleeping beside her woke up and tried to rescue her but the miscreants beat both of them. In the meantime, the villagers rushed to the spot and seeing them, the miscreants escaped from the scene.

On December 7, when the family members returned from the marriage they saw the girl and the boy injured. Her father Anam Rai took them to the Primary Health Centre where the doctor referred the girl to Ara Sadar Hospital.
