Villagers block Ara-Sasaram road to protest power scarcity

Ara: Hundreds of villagers blocked Ara-Sasaram main road near Lohia Chowk under Piro sub-division in Bhojpur district for about four hour and paralyzed movement of vehicles, burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against the officials of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL). They said that in the sultry heat, they had to go without power for the last one month but the officials of the SBPDCL remain indifferent. So they were left with no option than to resort to agitation. They said they would launch a more aggressive agitation if the officials did not pay heed to their grievances and provide uninterrupted power supply. The blockade was lifted after positive assurance from police and SBPDCL officials.
