Villagers block Ara-Sahar road to protest death of man in accident

Ara : Irate villagers blocked  Ara-Sahar road near village Phulari under Sandesh police station for about three hours on December 1, 2018, paralysing movement of vehicles in protest against death of Ram Pravesh Sao, 40, in a road accident. They were raising slogans against Bhojpur district administration and demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased.

SHO, Sandesh Police Station, said that Ram Pravesh Sao was going on his bicycle when a speeding truck collided head-on with the bicycle killing him on spot. As the news of his death spread, irate villagers blocked the road with the body and paralysed movement of vehicles. He said the blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem.
