Ara : Hundreds of villagers blocked Ara-Buxar NH 84 near Shahpur Petrol Pump on August 3, 2017, since morning paralysing movement of vehicles to protest Bhojpur district administration’s failure to check cow slaughter and smuggling of beef. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans and were demanding immediate ban on cow slaughter and closure of slaughter houses in Bhojpur district. The blockade was lifted after positive assurance from police officials.
The people of village Shahpur seized a truck loaded with beef and caught three youth in this connection. The truck was going to Muzzaffarpur after loading beef from Ranisagar village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district in the morning.
