Ara : Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar, on the direction of the DIG, Shahabad Range, Md Rahman, and on the basis of inquiry report of the ASP, Jagdishpur, Daya Shankar Singh, on August 5, 2017, suspended SHO Shahpur police station (PS) in Bhojpur district, Bipin Bihari, for dereliction of duty. The action was taken against the SHO for his failure to check illegal slaughter house under his jurisdiction.
Some villagers had caught a truck loaded with 10 tonnes of beef when the truck stopped at a petrol pump for diesel near village Ranisagar under Shahpur police station and also nabbed three beef smugglers on August 3, 2017. Later, they handed over the suspected beef smugglers to police after thrashing them. The villagers had also blocked Ara-Buxar road for about three hours demanding action against the SHO accusing of patronizing the owners of the slaughter house at Ranisagar.
