Ara : The villagers seized a Pick-up van carrying meat at Akhgaon Bazaar under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur district on August 9, 2018, and also thrashed its driver and Cleaner badly.
SI, Sandesh police station, Awadhesh Kumar Singh said that meat loaded in three pick up vans were being brought over to Kasari Tola under Ara Town police station from Jehanabad via Sandesh-Chandi main road. He said that one of the Pick-up got trapped in the ditch on the road and foul smell started emitting from it. The villagers intercepted the pick-up van and found meat loaded on it and went on rampage suspecting it could be beef. They damaged the vehicle.
Police freed the driver and cleaner from the clutches of the mob and also seized the vehicle. Police also arrested a butcher from Kasari Tola under Ara Town police station.
