Muzaffarpur: State vigilance investigation bureau has started tightening its noose on 28 officials including former Muzaffarpur DM Ram Narayan Prasad in 16 year old school teachers’ mass transfer case. All of them may have to go to jail. Vigilance inspector and investigating officer (IO) of the case Murari Prasad, in a letter to Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh, has asked for the present address of the 28 officials besides the posts they were holding now.
It may be mentioned here that in the year 2000, the then Muzaffarpur DM Ram Narayan Prasad and ADM ( confidential) Vinod Kumar Jha had effected mass transfer of teachers allegedly on monetary consideration. After much hue and cry over the issue, 28 officials including the then DM, Muzaffarpur, Prasad were suspended in this connection. Although a case was registered by the vigilance, the case file kept gathering dust.
The IO said that several irregularities were detected during the investigation of the case. Soon chargesheet will be submitted before the court in the case and all accused would have to go to jail, he said.
