RJD MLA Raj Ballabh surrenders before court

Patna: RJD legislator Raj Ballabh Yadav, who was charged with raping a minor girl, surrendered before the judicial magistrate court at Biharsharif in Nalanda district on Wednesday following an order of Supreme Court of India.

The SC had cancelled the bail granted by Patna High Court earlier. A division bench of the Supreme Court had on November 8 directed Yadav to surrender immediately. Yadav was released in October 2016 on bail granted by Patna high court.  The state government had appealed before SC seeking cancellation of his bail. The Apex court directed the trial court to record the statement of survivor within three weeks .
