Bettiah : A State Vigilance Investigation Bureau team led by a DSP Vimlendu Kumar Verma on July 31, 2018, arrested a Data Entry Operator Purshottam Prasad Yadav from the residential office of  Sub -Divisional Officer (SDO), Bettiah, in West Champaran District, Vidyanand Paswan, while accepting a pribe of Rs 10,000 from one Raju Das of village Pirari under Enarawa police station in West Champaran district.

According to the Vigilance team, Raju Das had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Bureau that Data Entry Operator Yadav had been demanding Rs 10,000 as bribe for providing him a copy of an ienquiry report of the SDM.  Vigilance Bureau DSP Verma said that complaint of Raju Das was found true during verification and a trap was laid to arrestd Yadav red handed accepting bribe.

Sources said that two liquor mafias : Sunil Gupta and Anil Gupta, had allegedly got allotted a liquor shop in 2014-2015 in the name of Raju Das without his knowledge. Later on, a notice was served on Raju Das asking him to deposit the security money for the liquor shop alloted in  his name.

Raju Das lodged a complaint with DM, West Champaran, in this connection.The DM had instructed SDO, Bettiah, to conduct thorough probe into the matter. Raju Das was repeatedly demanding the inquiry report of the SDM. But, Data Entry Operator Yadav was demanding Rs 10,000 to hand him over the inquiry report. Raju Das then approached the State Vigilance Investigation Bureau.
