Vehicles carrying sand, stonechips illegally in Bhojpur to face music

Ara : Bhojpur DM Birendra Prasad Yadav on February 11 directed the District Transport Officer (DTO), all the SDOs, SDPOs and assistant director, Mines and Geology department, to check plying of trucks or tractors carrying stonechips illegally.

Bhojpur DM said that some trucks and tractors ply on roads carrying stonechips without licenses mentcausing loss of revenue to the state government. He directed the officials to continue vehicle checking drive regularly. He directed them the senior officials of the district to identify officials and employees extending patronage to the truck and tractor drivers and their owners and take stern action against them.

The DM said he had information that sand was being carried through pontoon bridge over river Ganga between Mahuli ghat and Khwaspur under Barahara block in Bhojpur district illegally and directed the Ara SDO and the SDPO to check it immediately as carrying of sand through the pontoon bridge is illegal. The DM also directed the Ara SDO and SDPO to streamline traffic system in Ara town. He held the respective SHOs responsible for traffic jam.
