Vegetable vendor killed in accident at Harhani market in Bhojpur

Ara  : A vegetable vendor Gupteshwar Chaurasia was killed while about have a dozen persons were injured when a speeding Maruti Van dashed a woman and the vegetable seller and later rammed an electric poll at Garhani Bazaar under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district late March 19 evening. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured persons there. Police also seized the vehicle though the driver managed to escape.

The SHO, Charpokhari police station, said that a speeding Maruti Van from Piro crushed Gupteshwar Chaurasia, 60, of village Semrao when he was selling vegetables on the roadside near Garhani Gola Bazaar. An elderly woman Buchia Devi, wife of Harinath Chaudhary of Agiaw village, who was purchasing vegetable was also injured.  Gupteshwar Chaurasia succumbed to his injuries. The driver was driving the vehicle at breakneck speed and lost control over the steering and the vehicle collided with an electric poll injuring all the passengers including two minor children.
