Uncle makes abortive bid to rape niece at Saharsa village

Saharsa : Saharsa police are yet to arrest village Rahua resident Birendra Mistry who allegedly made an abortive bid to outrage the modesty of his 16 year old niece at 3 pm on February 20 after a fight between the children of the two families. The seriously injured girl, who was saved by the villagers, was admitted to Saharsa Sadar hospital where she has been kept in female ward.

SHO, Bihra police station under which village Rahua falls, said that after probe appropriate action would be taken against the accused. The doctor, who examined the girl at the hospital, asked police to record her statement.

Village sources said that after quarrel between children of the two families, Birendra Mistry first assaulted Ramlekha Devi, wife of his younger brother, and nephew Raj Kumar and then dragged his niece to his house and attempted to outrage her modesty. Ramlekha alleged that Birendra tore the cloths of her daughter and injured her by biting on her chest.
