Ara: Two married women committed suicide at two different places in Bhojpur district on Thursday evening. The police brought the bodies to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and arrested two persons in this connection.
Disturbed due to continuous torture allegedly by her in-laws, a married woman Rani Devi, wife of Deepak Tiwari, committed suicide by consuming poison at village Chandawa under Nawada police station on Thursday evening. Police recovered the body and brought it to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The police also arrested her father-in-law and brother-in-law (nandoi) though her husband and others are still at large.
In another incident, Varsha Devi, wife of Vikky Kumar of Ravipur village under Garhani police station, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house at village Zamira under Ara Muffassil police station on Thursday evening. Later, the police recovered the body on the information of villagers and brought it to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
SHO Garhani police station said Varsha Devi, daughter of Shankar Prasad, was married to Vikky of Ravipur under Garhani police station. Varsha was living at her father’s house.
