Ara: Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU) administration has suspended five employees of two constituent colleges under it with immediate effects in connection with irregularities allegedly committed by them in admission of students to BA part I. The university administration has also issued notifications in this regard. The suspended employees are: Kavindra Prasad Singh, Chandrabhushan and Binod Prasad Singh of Maharaja College, Ara,  and Venktesh Prabhakar and Arun Singh of S B College, Ara.

Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, Leela Chand Sah said the said employees allegedly in connivance with Principals of eight constituent and two affiliated colleges illegally admitted students exceeding the number of seats allotted to these colleges hence the university did not issue registration numbers to such students. As a result, they could not fill up their forms this year. He said about 1,000 students suffered due to this. He said an inquiry committee was set up to look into the matter. The committee found three employees of Maharaja College and two employees of S B College responsible for the irregularities.

The VC said the inquiry was still on into other colleges under the university and the guilty would not be spared. It may be mentioned here that 65 students in Maharaja College and 123 students in S B college were admitted in B A Part I exceeding the seats allotted to these colleges and were not allowed to fill up the examination forms. The students concerned had resorted to agitation for days together after which the university administration woke up and ordered for an inquiry into the matter.
