Two persons drown to death in river Ganga in Bhojpur

Ara : Rahul Kumar, son of Ghurul Yadav of village Chamarpur  under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur, drowned in river Ganga at Shivpur ghat at Shahpur on June 7, 2019, morning, while taking bath. The divers have been pressed into service but were yet to locate him.

SHO, Shahpur police station, said that the family members of Ghurul Yadav of village Chamarpur  had come to Shivpur Ghat on the bank of river Ganga on June 7 morning for head tonsure of a child in the family. Meanwhile, Rahul Kumar went to take a dip in the river and during which he was swept away by the fast current of the river and was drowned. On getting information, Shahpur police rushed to the spot and pressed the divers into service to fish out the body.

In another incident, Indal Singh, 20, of village Dariyapur  under Ara Muffassil police station, drowned in river Ganga at Balua Ghat. SHO, Ara Muffassil police station, said that Indal Singh along with his brother-in-law (Jija) reached Balua Ghat on June 7 morning to take bath in river Ganga. Indal Singh was swept away by the fast current of the river but he was taken out of the river with the help of the villagers. The villagers rushed him to Ara Sadar Hospital but he died on way to the hospital.
