Gopalganj: The court of the District and Sessions Judge (DJ) on Wednesday transferred the case of Khajurbanni liquor tragedy to the court of ADJ-6 on point of providing bail to the accused. The matter would be taken up by the court of ADJ-6 on November 24.
Defence lawyer Ved Prakash Tiwary had earlier filed bail petitions of Chattu Pasi, Sanoj Pasi, Rajesh Pasi and Rita Devi in DJ’s court. He had argued in the court that neither liquor was recovered from their houses nor anyone desposed that they had consumed liquor in the houses of the four accused. Over 20 persons had died after consuming liquor at Khajurbanni in Gopalganj district on August 15-16, 2016. Later, huge quantity of liquor was recovered during raids by local police.
