Gopalganj: A woman and her daughter were killed on the spot while her son sustained serious injuries when the bike on which they were travelling was rammed by a speeding dumper on NH-28 near village Belanwa under Kuchaikot police station in Gopalganj district on February 3 morning. The trio was on way to to Lachwar Temple and the accident took place due to dense fog. The driver of dumper escaped with the vehicle after the mishap.

The deceased were identified as Rajali Devi, wife of Premchand Kushwaha of village Rupanchap under Bishambharpur police station, and her daughter Kavita Kumari alias Chandni (22). Her injured son Amit Kumar alias Abhishek (19) was driving the bike.

Eyewitnesses said that as the trio was moving towards the temple, a dumper coming from Uttar Pradesh dashed the bike and the trio along with the bike was dragged to 30 metres by the dumper. Before the locals could react to the situation, the dumper driver escaped from there with the vehicle.The trio was admitted to local hospital where the doctors declared mother-daughter duo dead and referred Amit to Medical College, Gorakhpur, in Uttar Pradesh.

The bodies of both the deceased were sent to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police lodged an FIR against unknown driver in this connection.
