Patna:  Lakshmi Singh, an IAS officer of of 1970 batch who had retired as chief secretary of Jharkhand long back, was granted promition to the rank of chief secretary in Bihar too. According to a notification issued by the genereal administration department here on Tuesday, she would get all financial benefits and perks as chief secretary rank officer with retrospective effect.
Another retired IAS officer Ramashankr Tiwari (1969  batch) too was promoted to the rank of chief secretary long after his retirement.However, the notification clarifies he would not be entitled to financial gains except for benefits in pension revision.

Vandana Preyasi and A Chuva Aaao, both 2003 batch IAS officers currently on central deputation, were promoted as special secretaries with effect from January 1,2016. Over 100 BAS officers too were transferred to different places. Of them 77 were promoted as additional secretaries and eight as special secretaries.
