Two cousin sisters drown to death in Chhera river in Bhojpur

Ara : Two cousin sisters drowned to death in  river Chhera river at village Akdahi Tola under Agiaw Bazaar police station in Bhojpur district on August 25, 2018, while the villagers rescued two others. The villagers fished out the bodies of the two girls. Later, police brought the bodies over Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem and admitted two others there.

SHO, Agiaw Bazaar Police Station, said that Raja Kumari, daughter of Bagesh Yadav, and Nisha Kumari, daughter of Lal Ji Yadav of Akdahi Tola under the police station along with two other girls of the village had gone to the field for grass cutting. During washing her hand in river Chhera, Raja Kumari slipped and fell into the river and drowned. Seeing her drowning, Nisha Kumari and two other girls went to her rescue but they themselves started drowning. The villagers working in the field rushed to the spot and rescued two girls but Raja Kumari and Nisha Kumari could not be rescued.
