Motihari : Two unidentified  bike borne criminals looted  gold  jewellery weighing 1,800 grams worth Rs 80  lakh from Trilok Kumar, a  staff and worker of Singal Sonar Jewellery  Shop on February 1, 2022, evening, in Miscot locality of Motihari town in East Champaran District in North Bihar when he was going to the shop located at Gudari Bazaar on foot. Trilok  Kumar  lodged a case  in this connection with Motihari town  police station PS) and police is investigating the case.

Trilok Kumar said that Singal Sonar ,owner of  the jewellery shop  at  Gudari bazaar, had  given him the said gold jewellery to polish them   at his home and after  polishing the  ornaments  he was going  to the  shop to return the same.  All the ornaments were  kept in a hand- bag . But, two bike borne criminals intercepted him on road in Miscot locality and  snatched his bag containing  the jewellery after throwing chilli powder in his eyes. .I fell on road and  some persons  helped me, Trilok informed  his shop owner.

East Chmparan SP Kumar Ashish talking to this reporter said that the  case is being investigated by police. Police  have quizzed Trilok,  owner of the shop,  and other persons,  and examining  their call details, the SP said.

SDPO, Motihari, Arun Kumar Gupta, said it does not appear to be case is not of loot rather it is matter of breach of trust. Trilok Kumar has been changing his version frequently, the SDPO added. ” We are investigating the case,” the SDPO said annd added , ” Trilok Kumar said during interrogation that  he was at home  on February 1, 2022, but  after technical examination of his cellphone it was found at Chakiya  in ghe district. So, we are  investigating the case from different angle.”
