Tsitsipas, Isner, Querrey enter QFs of ATP China Open

Patna : Third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, Greece, World No 19 John Isner, 34, USA, and World No 55 Sam Querrey, 31, USA, entered the quarter-finals of China Open, an ATP 500 points event, at Beijing, China, on October 3, 2019, winning their respective second round matches.

World No 7 Tsitsipas beat World No 17 Nikoloz Basilashvili, 27, Georgia, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 coming from behind in 2hr 8 minutes. Both the players fired 8 Aces each in the match. Basilashvili, however, committed 9 double faults in the match to 2 by the Greek. Tsitsipas won 3 break points in the match to 1 by Basilashvili. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match.

Tsitsipas will face John Isner in the QFs on October 4, 2019. Isner defeated World No 48 Dan Evans, 29, UK, 7-6, 7-5 in 2nd round. Isner hammered 21 Aces in the match to just 1 by Evans. Isner won one break point besides winning 3 games in a row. The American won 54 service points to 50 by Evans.

Querrey upset World No 16 Diego Svhwartzman, 27, Argentina, in a three-set thriller 7-6, 6-7, 6-3. Querrey hammered 31 Aces in the match to 5 by Schwartzman. But, Querrey also committed 4 double faults. The American won 4 break points in the match to 3 by Schwartzman. Both the players won 3 games each in a row. Querrey won 74 service points to 63 by Schwartzman.
