Osaka, Bianca, Wozniacki & Kasatkina enter QFs of WTA China Open

Patna : World No 4 and reigning Australian Open Champion Naomi Osaka, 21, Japan, US Open Champion and World No 6 Bianca Andreescu, 19, Canada, World No 19 Caroline Wozniacki, 29, Denmark, and World No 45 Daria Kasatkina, 22, Russia, entered the quarter-finals of China Open, a WTA premier event, at Beijing, China, on October 3, 2019.

Osaka , the 4th seed, swept past World No 24 Alison Riske, 29, USA, 6-4, 6-0 in second round firing 7 Aces. Osaka won 5 break points in the match to 1 by Riske. Osaka won 10 games in a row in the match to 3 by the American. Osaka won 35 service points to 20 by Riske.

Osaka will face Bianca Andreescu in QFs on October 4, 2019. Bianca, the 5th seed, brushed aside World No 66 Jennifer Brady, 24, USA, 6-1, 6-3  in 2nd round winning 4 break points in the match besides winning 5 games in a row. The Canadian won 35 service points in the match to 28 by Brady.

Former Australian Open Champion Caroline Wozniacki, the 16th seed, beat World No 47 Katerina Siniakova, 23, Czech Republic, 7-5, 6-4 in 2nd round in 1hr 37 minutes. Wozniacki won 7 break points in the match to 5 by Siniakova. She also won 4 games in a row in the match to 2 by Siniakova. The Dane served 3 Aces in the match to 1 by Siniakova.

Kasatkina defeated World No 38 Ekaterina Alexandrova, 24, Russia, 6-4, 6-3 in second round. Kasatkina won 7 break points in the match to 5 by Ekaterina. Kasatkina also won 7 games in a row in the match to 3 by Ekaterina. Kasatkina will face Wozniacki in QFs on October 4.
