Train services on Gaya- Kiul section disrupted in Nawada after death of student

Nawada: A B.Sc student Ravi Shankar’s mutilated body was found on an isolated roadside, 5 km away from Warisaliganj police station in Nawada district on November 12. Agitated relatives and residents of village Mai  suspecting foul play disrupted train services near the village on Gaya-Kiul section of East Central railway (ECR)demanding immediate arrest of the killers. Several trains on this section remained stranded causing inconvenience to the passengers.

Ravi Shankar and two other fellow students were returning to the above village after appearing at B.sc part I exams from Nardiganj on a bike on Friday evening. It is suspected that a speeding truck rammed into their bike leaving Ravi Shankar spot dead while his associates escaped with minor injuries. The body was recovered on Saturday morning. Police arrived at the scene and managed to clear the blockade. According to Warisaliganj police, it is a case of road accident rather than murder as both the legs of the deceased were crushed to pulp and some broken parts of the bike were lying near the site.
