Sasaram:  Reporter of Hindi daily `Dainik Bhaskar’ at Sasaram Dhamendra Singh was shot dead by three motorcycle borne criminals on November 12 morning when he was taking tea at a tea-stall near his house at Amra Talab (pond) Muffasil police station in Rohtas district. Dharmendra was shot thrice in his chest by the criminals riding a black bike.

Before the people could realise what had happended, the criminals had escaped. Dharmendra was rushed to Sasaram Sadar hospital where the doctors, after initial treatment, referred him to Varanasi. But, Dharmendra succumbed to his injuries en route Varanasi. The incident has shocked the people.  Police teams are conducting raids to arrest the killers. Dharmendra was also a football player. He frequently wrote about illegal stone quarrying in Rohtas district.

With it, second journalist has been shot dead by criminals in the state putting a big question mark on the law and order in Bihar. In May 2016, Rajdeo Ranjan,  Siwan Bureau chief of Hindi daily `Hindustan’ was shot dead allegedly by the associates of former MP Mohammad Shahabuddin. The CBI is inquiring into the murder of Rajdeo.
