Train driver injured in stone pelting by miscreants in Nawada

Nawada: Some miscreants threw stones at Gaya-Kiul passenger train on Tuesday resulting in injury to the train driver. The bleeding driver was rushed to Nawada sadar hospital for treatment. The train movement was disrupted for over an hour after the incident. Police arrested one person was arrested while others managed to escape.

The train was bound for Gaya and no sooner it had covered a distance of less than a kilometre when a group of miscreants started pelting stones at the engine for no rhyme or reason. One of the stone hit the train driver, Kauleshwar Choudhary, resulting in head injury to him. The train was detained for an hour near the station’s outer signal. It started its onward journey only after the return of Kauleshwar Choudhary from the hospital.

Meantime, one of the miscreants identified as Mohammad Sadiq, of Bhadauni locality under Nawada town police station, was apprehended by the public and handed over to the police. The other four miscreants made good their escape.
