Sitamarhi: In yet another incident of violence, two unidentified bike borne criminals shot dead a building materials shop owner Govind Kumar alias Guddu Bhagwani, 40, in Sitamarhi town in North Bihar on February 25, 2021, noon, at his shop at Bariyarpur Chowk opposite the patrol pump on NH-77.
The criminals suddenly reached Govind Kumar’s shop and fired a few shots on him. He fell down. The doctors pronounced him brought dead. The locals feel that the trader might have been gunned down for refusing to pay Ragdari tax (extortion amoun) to the goons. Govind Kumar was a native of Mirchayipatti Muhallah of the town. The countrymade pistol and magazine of the criminals fell down near the place of occurrence when they were escaping.
Sitamarhi SP Anil Kumar visited the place of occurence and assured the family members of speedy action. But, none has been arrested in this connection so far.
It may be mentioned here that Tirhut range IG Ganesh Kumar is also in Sitamarhi to supervise the killing of SI Dinesh Ram at village Kuaari under Majorganj police station on February 24, 2021.
