Bagaha : Vijay Manjhi, 25, the only son of Lallan Majhi of Sithi Jagannath Musahartoli under Gaunaha police station in Bagaha police district was attacked and killed by a Tiger on September 3, 2018, when he had gone for grazing his cattle near the Gobardhana forest range.
The Tiger suddenly attacked Vijay Manjhi, took him to dense forest from the fringe of Gobardhana forest range of Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) under Gaunaha police station, and killed him. His parents and villagers, who were searching for him, found parts of his body including skull, legs and bones on the bank of Hawas rivulets, about 50 metres deep into the forest on September 5, 2018.
Additional Conservator of Forests (ACF) Naresh Prasad, SI Madhuban Rai of Gaunaha police station along with others reached the spot and took under their custody parts of a skeleton and ragged clothes. The skeleton parts are being sent to Forensic Science Lab, Patna, and a U/D case has been lodged with the police station concerned.
Sumitra Devi, mother of the deceased, said that Vijay was her only son and was father of two children. Vijay was only earning member of the family, she said.
