Three sentenced to 20 years RI in rape case

Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge, Ara,  I B B Singh on Thursday sentenced three persons to 20 years rigorous imprisonment (RI)  for outraging the modesty of a 19 year old girl in November, 2014. The court also slapped a fine of  Rs 50,000 each on the three accused. APP Ram Babu Prasad said that when a 19 year old girl of village Baban Chaudhari under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district was going to attend the call of nature on November 13, 2014, evening, six persons overpowered her from behind and took her to a secluded place where all of them outraged her modesty one by one. The girl had lodged a named FIR withr Jagdishpur police station against six persons including Rajesh Chaudhary alias Karu Chaudhary, Awadhesh Yadav and  Anil Paswan. The APP said that three out of six accused were minor and so they were separated from the trial. After hearing, the court awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment to three accused : Rajesh Chaudhary, Awadhesh Yadav and Anil Paswan.
