Muzaffarpur: Three persons were killed when the bike they were riding rammed a static tractor trailer at Pakhnaha Dhala on NH 28 under Kanti block in Muzaffarpur district on February 10 morning. The deceased were identified Rai, Shivnath Rai and Bharaat Rai, all residents of Kanti. They were vegetable dealers.

The mishap took place under Panapur police outpost. Angry over the death of three persons, the locals blocked Muzaffarpur – Motihari main road on NH 28  demanding compensation to the deceased. SDO, West, Muzaffarpur, and DSP, West, Muzaffarpur, were pacifying them.  The tractor driver escaped after the incident. The government announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to all the three deceased.

The three had left for Kanti from Motipur on a bike around 8 on February 10. Munna Rai alias Pawan was allegedly driving the bike at breakneck speed and rammed a static tractor trailer. All the three bike riders died on the spot. According to another report, an unidentified vehicle had rammed their bike and escaped. Police sent the bodies to SKMCH, Muzaffarpur, for post-mortem.
