Tension in Chandrapura after man is thrashed, mob also attacks cops

According to police,  Ansari reached his in-laws’ place at Narra Basti in Chandrapura late April 3 evening and parked his motorcycle on the outskirts of village when suddenly few people chanting religious songs pointed finger towards him suspecting him to be a child lifter and started chasing him. Leaving his behind, Ansari escaped and took shelter at his in- laws’ house but his mobile was damaged. On April 4 morning as Ansari came out of the house few youth again chased him  and assaulted him till he fainted.

Later,  OC of Chandrapura police station, Dwarika Ram came with other cops. But, they were also attacked in which the OC  sustained minor injuries.  A police SUV was attacked. Dumri MLA Jagganath Mahto came to spot to pacify the crowd but was also forced to go back after which large number of cops led by DSP S K Rajwar and others reached  the spot and controlled the situation. Ansari was rushed to Ranchi hospital with multiple wounds. Bokaro SP Y S Ramesh stated that situation was under control while patrolling in the zone had been intensified.
