Saharsa woman Seema’s ordeal continues, husband marries another woman

Saharsa : Seema, who was married to Ramu Raut, son of Mala Devi of village Batraha in Saharsa district, on December 9, 2011, was sent back home by her husband and in-laws after allegedly beating her for begetting three daughters even as she was pregnant again. Due to physical assault, Seema had miscarriage at Saharsa Sadar hospital on April 3, 2017, evening.

Ramu was so angry with Seema for begetting three daughter that he married another woman and brought her home sometime back. When Seema protested his second marriage, Ramu and his family members not only assaulted her but also dropped her to her parents’ house in Aspatal colony, Saharsa, alleged her mother Uma Devi, a widow.

When Seema’s family members and well wishers strongly protested inhuman treatment to her on Sadar hospital premises, SHO, Mahila Police Station, Aarti Singh, reached there and promised them an appropriate action in the matter. But, Uma Devi, alleged that earlier when Seema was beaten up by her in-laws, a case was lodged with Mahila police station but no action was taken at that time.
