Ara : A teenage boy was killed when a speeding tractor dashed him from behind near Jamalpur Bazaar on Koelwar-Chhapra main road under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district on October 29, 2018, late evening. The tractor driver, in his bid to escape from the spot, rammed a shop injuring two more persons.
After the incident, the driver escaped leaving the tractor behind. The deceased was identified as Sahil, 14, son of Manoj Kumar Singh of Jamalpur under Koelwar police station and was a student of class VIII of Middle School, Muhammadpur.
Irate villagers blocked Koelwar-Chhapara main road for about four hours paralysing movement of vehicles. Police had to face the ire of the locals when they went to remove the blockade. The protesters pelted cops with stones forcing them to retreat. After three hours, the blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Plice brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem.
