Ara: Umakant, 14, was killed by his friend late Tuesday evening at village Rampur under Dhangai police station in Bhojpur district. Later, the police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. A named FIR has been lodged with Dhangai police station against Pradeep alias Tunna, Gorakh Mahto, Baijnath Mahto and Munna Mahto of the village but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
The SHO, Dhangai police station, said that Umakant, son of Birendra Mahto, and Pradeep alias Tunna were friends and were playing cricket on Tuesday. They had some tiff during play but after it both went to their houses. In the late evening, when Umakant was sleeping in his field beside his house, Pradeep alias Tunna along with his family members reached there, slit his throat and escaped from the scene.
