Patna : World No 15 and 13th seed Borna Coric, 2, Croatia, was knocked out of French Open by World No 45 Jan-Lenard Struff, 29, Germany, on June 1, 2019. Struff upset Coric in a five-set thriller 4-6, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6, 11-9 in the 3rd round at Roland Garros, Paris, France, to enter the Round of 16.

Struff fired 21 Aces in the match to 18 by Coric. He won 5 break points to 4 by the Croatian. The German won 5 games in a row to 3 by Coric. Struff committed 6 double faults in the match to 8 by the Croatia. Struff will face World No 1 Novak Djokovic in Round of 16 on June 3.

World No 4 Dominic Thiem, Austria, defeated World No 47 Pablo Cuevas, 33, Uruguay, in four-sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 in the 3rd round to advance to the Round of 16. Thiem won 7 break points to 4 by Cuevas. The Austrian also won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Cuevas. Thiem fired 5 Aces in the match to 3 by Cuevas. Thiem will face World No 17 Gael Monfils, France, in Round of 16.

World No 11 Karen Khachanov, Russia, beat World No 55 Martin Klizan, 29, Slovakia, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 to reach the Round of 16. Khachanov hammered 11 Aces in the match to just 1 by Klizan. He also won 7 break points to 2 by Klizan. Khachanov will face World No 9 Juan Martin del Porto, Argentina, in Round of 16 on June 3.
