Patna : Australia beat Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the 4th match of ICC World Cup at County Ground, Bristol, UK, on June 1, 2919, late night, with Openers Aaron Finch ( Captain) scoring 66 in 49 balls hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes and his opening partner David Warner scoring an unbeaten 89 in 114 balls hitting 8 fours. Usman Khawaja fell to spinner Rashid Khan for 15 while Steve Smith fell to Mujeeb Ur Rahman for 18. Finch fell to captain Gulbadin Naib. Replying to Afghanistan’s 207 all out in 38.2 overs, Australia raced to 209/3 in 34.5 overs. Afghanistan had won the toss and opted to bat.

Batting first, Afghanistan scored 207 with Najibullah Zadran scoring 51 with 7 fours and 2 sixes, Rahmat Shah scoring 43 in 60 balls with 6 fours, and captain Gulbadin Naib 31 in 33 balls with 4 fours and a six. Spinner Rashid Khan scored 27 in 11 balls hittying 2 fours and 3 sixes.

For Australia, Pat Cummins took 3/40 in 8.2 overs while Marcus Stoinis took 2/37 I n 7 o vers. Mitchell Starc took 1/31 while spinner Adam Zampa took 3/60 in 8 overs. David Warner was declared Player of the Match.
