Ara : Hundreds of students seeking admission in Intermediate and BA, BSc and B.Com Part I are a harried lot as they could not get themselves admitted in the colleges after expiry of the last date of admission on September 10, 2018, as all the non-teaching employees of 16 out of 17 constituent colleges under Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara,  are on indefinite strike to press their 12 point demands since September 5, 2018.  The students came to colleges for admission but they were not allowed to get inside the college campus.

Registrar, VKSU, S N Jha, said 5 out of 12 demands of the non-teaching employees had been conceded and the proposals for the rest demands had been sent to the government and the Governor cum Chancellor and added that about Rs 24.46 crore out of Rs 61.5 crore received from the government for salary difference of non-teaching staff had been paid and the rest amount will be sent to their colleges and the same would be will be paid to them after verification of salary dues.

On the other hand, the employees are determined to continue their agitation till the VKSU administration issued notification in this regard. Zonal President, Non-Teaching Employees Association, Chitranjan Singh, said that if the VKSU administration did not concede their demands and issued notification in this regard within two days, the association will move Patna High Court.

Meanwhile, on the spot admission in the BA, B Sc and BCom Part I for the session 2018-2021 will start against  vacant seats after expiry of the last date of admission on September 10. The students seeking admission will have to submit forms in triplicate in the colleges from September 13, 2018, and the Bihar School Examination Board has issued guidelines in this regard.

Jawahar Lal, Nodal Officer, VKSU, said that only those students who could not get admission or not applied for the admission or their names did not figure in any list and who had applied through Oracle Financial Service Software (OFSS), are entitled to apply for offline admission.
