Patna : World Number 8 Kidambi Srikanth, 24, of India defeated Lee Hyun II, 37, of South Korea 21-10, 21-5 in a one sides match to win the Denmark Open Super Series Premier Badminton title for the first time in just 24 minutes. Srikanth was in superb form in the match and crushed Lee, ranked 22nd in world, in straight games. Srikanth won the first game in just 12 minutes. Srikanth had defeated World Number 1 Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in quarterfinals. It was Srikanth’s third super series title in 2017. He had earlier won the Indonesia and Australian Open titles.
Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon won the women’s title defeating Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-16, 22-24, 21-19.
