Ara : A speeding diesel tanker crushed a minor boy to death at village Maniara under Tier police station in Bhojpur District on December 27, 2019, morning. The tanker driver escaped with the vehicle from the spot.
The deceased was identified as Satyam Kumar, 6, son of Santosh Kumar Singh of Maniara village. Irate villagers blocked Bihia-Tier road with the body raising slogans against the district administration. They paralysed movement of vehicles for about two hours and demanded compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted and police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
SHO. Tier police station, said that Satyam Kumar had gone to buy some chocolate for himself. When he was returning from the market, a speeding tanker crushed him to death and the driver escaped with the vehicle from the spot.
