Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, South Africa were all out for 198 in 47.3 overs against Zimbabwe in the 2nd ODI at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein, South Africa, on October 3, 2018, night. Chasing a target of 199, Zimbabwe were 18/1 after 6.2 overs.

South Africa made a disastrous start to their innings losing their first four wickets for just 49 runs and were 101/7 after 25.1 overs. But, then fast bowlers Dale Steyn and Andile Phehlukwayo stitched a partnership of 75 runs to take South Africa to a modest total. Steyn scored 60 in 85 ball with 8 fours and a six, his first ODI fifty, while Phehlukwayo made 28 with a four and a six.

Opener Aiden Markram made 35 with 6 fours while Khaya Zondo made 21 with 2 fours and a six. Christiaan Jonker scored 25 in 19 ball with 4 fours and a six. Captain Jean-Paul Duminy fell to Kyle Jarvis for 5 while wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen fell to Tendai Chatara for 1 run.

For Zimbabwe, Tendai Chatara took 3/42 while Kyle Jarvis took 2/26. Donald Tiripano took 2/37 while Brandon Mavuta took 2/48. Sean Williams also took a wicket.
