Ara: Six persons including a woman and a minor child were killed and two others injured when a truck dashed  a vehicle carrying them near Mahavir Tola at Baligaon under Piro police station on Ara-Sasaram main road in Bhojpur district on Friday. The police brought the bodies of the deceased to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there.

The SHO, Piro police station, said that a ‘savari’ vehicle was going to Piro from Ara. When it reached near Mahavir Tola at Baligaon village under Piro police station on Ara – Sasaram main road at about 12.15 noo, a truck dashed it from left side. The ‘Savari’ overturned into a ditch in which five persons including a woman and a child were killed on the spot and three persons Yugan Singh, son of Antu Singh of village Kachchava in Rohtas district, Md. Aarju, son of Sadaruddin of Piro Chowk, and Manish Kumar, son of Sahkam Ahamad of Kurkuri in Bhojpur district, were injured. The injured were admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital.

The doctor at the hospital referred Yugan Singh to Patna Medical College and Hospital in a precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to Patna. With his death the toll increased o six. Indentity of other five persons is still to be ascertained. The SHO said that the police seized the truck but the driver escaped leaving the truck behind.
